So I've been mostly lurking on this account for a good three years now, working on this and that, trying to get some plans in motion. One of those plans was, and is, Lightning Ronin, which I have renamed Lightning Brigade in the interim.
I've very few followers here, and that's fine-I do dick all anyways. I am a writer and I've been focused on writing for quite a while. Writing scripts, primarily. So let me take you back a ways.
Raf would have to explain exactly which it was, could of been 2007 could have been 2009, I had this idea for a story, as I am want to do. It was a very simple idea, a small town cut off from the rest of the world must rely on a mysterious giant robot that fell from the sky to save themselves from a horde of monsters that have suddenly appeared around them. In many respects, this idea has remained the same since then, with only one critical difference that made it sing-villains. Late in 2011, Raf and I kicked up this old idea again, tossing it around, and he mentioned a villain he had, and then things clicked for us. We spent a few weeks hashing things out from there, but after that point the way was set and the path was clear-we had our idea. Raf then produced a very impressive rough draft of a possible cover, and the first design of the titular machine itself, and at that point I decided to put Lightning Brigade on hold and focus full blast on Charred.
So over the last year I spent a few months on the script for Charred, interrupted by home life and knee surgeries, but never deterred. I finished the script, then went back through and edited the thing, rehashed stuff, dropped kaiju, fixed it and fine tuned it.
After that Raf and myself realized we would likely need another artist-and I happened to come back into contact with some one I had known for quite a few years. For some strange reason she agreed to our plan, and now here we are, on the cusp of greatness.
We're going by the Image Comic Submission rules and are going to be submitting the first five completed pages to Image by May.
The creative team is myself as the Writer Ghostwalker
: As the Line Artist and Inker Enshohma
: As the Colorist and Letterer
Even if the comic doesn't get picked up by Image, we have some other ideas in mind. Some fall back plans, if you will.
If you have any questions, please do ask. I love questions, I love them quite a bit.
